The time to read is now! The challenge is to read and then test on at least five of the titles. If you do, you will qualify to go on a field trip in the Spring!!
The Texas Lone Star list is a recommended reading list developed by public and school librarians from
the Young Adult Round Table.
The purpose of the list is to encourage students in grades 6, 7, or 8 to explore a variety of current
books. The Lone Star list is intended for recreational reading, not to support a specific curriculum.
Students are challenged to read 5 Lone Star books throughout the year. After completing a book, they come
to the library and take a short 10 question quiz. For each book they read and pass the quiz, they
are one book closer to attending the field trip in the Spring. If a student reads 5 Lone Star Books and passes the tests, he/she will be attending a field trip with friends and UIL participants!!!!
